4. I don’t like the way I look, but I’m new to plastic surgery and unsure about what procedures to consider.  Can Dr. Stevens help me decide on the appropriate procedures?
Before you consider having plastic surgery to address any of your physical concerns, it’s important that you evaluate your reasons for choosing surgery. Ask yourself: What is your motivation? What flaws do you want to correct and why? What are your expectations from plastic surgery?

Reconstructive surgery is a significant investment of time, effort, emotions and resources. Evaluate your decision to make sure that you are considering your procedure for the right reasons. Dr. Stevens will speak with you about your options after an evaluation of your goals, expectations and emotional outlook before making any recommendations.

5. How much time should I take off from work?
Each procedure will warrant a different recovery time. During your consult with Dr. Stevens, he will discuss with you expected recovery length, how to care for yourself post-operation and expectations on when you can get back on your feet to a normal, everyday life.

6. How long until I can travel after plastic surgery?
After your surgery, Dr. Stevens recommends waiting at least one week post-operation before traveling long distances for long periods of time.  For some procedures, you may have to wait to fly approximately 10 to 14 days after surgery. Always discuss your travel plans with Dr. Stevens as you will require follow-up care after your surgery.

7. Some of the plastic surgeons I’ve spoken to charge extra for operating room costs, anesthesia and more.  Does Dr. Stevens have extra costs such as these?
Many surgeons charge extra for operating room costs and anesthesia services either in an itemized quote or a global quote prior to performing your surgery. Dr. Stevens breaks down the fee for your procedure so that you can see exactly what you are paying for and where your payment is going.
